The ABLE Act is making its way through Congress now. This site allows you to send a message to your senators and ask for their support.
Support is building in Congress for the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act which would allow the creation of tax-free savings accounts for Americans with disabilities, including autism.
via Support is Building for ABLE, Let’s Get Congress on the Move – **Autism Votes **.
In response to yesterday’s announcement of the growing prevalence of autism in the United States, Autism Votes is launching a membership drive. Here’s how you can get involved:
1) ENLIST FIVE PEOPLE TO JOIN AUTISM VOTES
Tell your family and friends how these new CDC numbers have affected you and what they mean to America. Ask them to enlist in Autism Votes here. Share your personal story about living with autism.
2) DON’T JUST ENLIST, JOIN THE FIGHT
Over the course of the year, we will periodically send emails asking that you take action with Congress or with your state lawmakers. Opening the email is not enough. We need you to make the calls, send the emails or spread the word on social media. We make it easy with simple messages and formatted emails!
3) JOIN THE SOCIAL MEDIA REVOLUTION
Get mobile alerts. Text “AVOTES” to 30644. And follow us on Facebook. Make sure to “like” us!
Even if you don’t support the specific legislation being pushed by Autism Votes at any given time – and I’ve heard plenty of parents who don’t – their site is very useful for updates on what is being discussed, where and when.
